Sunday 17th May
Finally, on the last day, we were allowed a bit of a lie-in until 8am! We had breakfast and finished packing up all our bags before jumping on the coach. It was here that we said goodbye to four of the group that were staying on in South America a bit longer.
Everyone sang Happy Birthday to Teri, and there was a card that everyone had signed and a cute little bracelet from Peru.
We checked in and ended up waiting on the plane for over an hour due to strong winds at Lima airport. After a wait at Lima airport we got the plane to Madrid and then on to London Heathrow. It was another Iberia plane journey that we would all rather forget!
At Heathrow it was so sad having to say goodbye to everyone as we waited for our bags, and we all got teary-eyed. Teri couldn't believe it when her magic stick made it all the way back to Heathrow, and we saw it come round the baggage stand!
The whole challenge of Peru has been the best time of our lives, and not only have we experienced some really tough times, learnt a lot about ourselves and each other, grown up a bit more and become engaged, we also met some fantastic people on our travels, who we hope to be friends for life.
Thank you to each and every one of you that made the whole experience so special.
